Ropey Science is run by Ollie Thomas, a herpetologist, tree climber and rope access technician based in the UK. Through this he has been, and hopes to continue, blending the worlds of ropes and science to push the frontier of research to new heights.

With certification to IRATA L2 & CS38 tree climbing and aerial rescue, along with a wealth of experience from rock climbing and advanced rigging, rescue and technique based courses, we can work within industry best practices as well as “rigging outside of the box” to achieve the desired goals.

Take a look at the Projects and Publications page to find out more about what we do and please get in touch if you have any questions or are interested to see how ropes can aid your research.
